Welcome to Verona Cathedral! Thanks to your help, these extraordinary spaces remain open to the public, protected and periodically restored so they can be preserved for future generations. Verona is usually remembered for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet love story, but its iconic buildings actually preserve the spirit of an elegant artistic tradition that tells a story of faith and culture that is even more evocative and precious due to its centuries-old history.
These are fascinating places, often characterised by the colour of the distinctive glossy Veronese red marble, which appears frequently in floors, columns, capitals and sculptures. In the Cathedral complex, consisting of three churches and several connecting rooms, you can admire the traces and testimonies of 1,600 years of history, art and faith. We recommend starting your tour with a visit to the Baptistery, then continuing to the church of Sant’Elena and finally the Cathedral. Alternatively, you can explore freely, listening to descriptions as you encounter the signs along the route.
